Island Cottage Guesthouse

The room opens right onto the street, but the neighborhood felt very safe. Inside, the kitchenette had everything you could need and more, including an air fryer. The bed was comfortable and the hot water had just the right pressure. The staff were kind, friendly, and helpful. Definitely recommend this comfortable place when staying in town.

We loved staying here. The staff are so friendly, the room is amazing and has everything you need, plus a sea view. The Spa is amazing too. Retha definitely has healing hands and made the treatment feel very special.

The room was OK, but the pictures can be deceiving. Ours was on the ground floor, literally on the street, which wasn't pleasant. What really disappointed us was the owner's extremely unfriendly attitude. After a 14 hour drive from Windhoek and a car breakdown, we reached Luderitz around 8 pm. We went straight to dinner because we hadn't managed to eat all day, and restaurants in Luderitz close very early. Ms Retha called at 20:30 and said we had to check in immediately because her husband was travelling the next day. They weren't willing to wait even 30 minutes, and she said she wouldn't be able to check us in otherwise. We had to leave dinner urgently so we wouldn't be left out on the street, even though we had prepaid. We ended up hungry. I've travelled extensively and been to Namibia 3 times, but this was the first time I'd encountered such an unwelcoming attitude. It was disgraceful, not just in Namibia but anywhere in the world. Shameful.

The spa is a must visit. The relaxing massage and facial combination was so nice, and both were much needed after traveling for 6 weeks. Highly recommend, and they take card!
