The location is handy for visiting Sossusvlei, but the price made the problems here feel even worse. We found the campsite much more expensive than most in Namibia, and when we asked to cancel our next night, staff said we couldn't. After exploring the desert, there isn't much else to do nearby, and we weren't happy with how the whole situation was handled. The pool was the main issue. Staff said it was open when we arrived, but around 14:30 it was closed under a plastic sheet. They said it was being filled and should be ready by 17:00. At about 40°C, that would have been the only way to cool off, since the ablution blocks were extremely hot and even the “cold” water wasn't really cold. We checked again around 17:15 and it was still closed. This time we were told a power issue meant it couldn't be filled. The poor communication left us very disappointed with the facilities and value for money.

The sites have a decent amount of room between them, and most get some shade from trees. The facilities are a little old, but they work. The ablutions were clean, and the water and power worked as promised. Staff were friendly and supportive. We had the Sesriem Burger at the restaurant, and the food was fine. One of the better NWR campsites.

Book ahead, even out of season this place is packed, and the less desirable sites don't have shade. We had a great time here, though. It’s a good spot for seeing the sunrise from inside the national park and getting to Sossusvlei early. The food was quite good, and there was running water and electricity. Restaurant staff were excellent and very friendly. The shop was less pleasant. Still, it was a nice stay and I’d recommend it, 4.5/5.

Be sure to look up at night. I don't think I've seen so many constellations anywhere else in the world. The site has plenty of space for a car, and some pitches have washbasins and barbecue areas. The shower and toilet were very good. There's a restaurant for dinner and breakfast, but we didn't have time to try the food.

We paid double what we would have at the other campsite inside the park or at those just outside, and got little more than ground, a small tree and electricity. There was no WiFi or water, and no shade or shelter from wind, rain or sun like at the other camps. We chose this because we wanted to enter the park earlier and stay later, and it felt like the only option. Looking back, we would have been fine at the other camps. For the value, this was disappointing and I wouldn't recommend it.
