Mercure Hotel Windhoek

At the Mercure Hotel Restaurant, the lively music from DJ Paulo brought the whole place to life. The food was great, and Kahii made the visit feel special with outstanding, friendly service and real warmth. I walked in and was welcomed right away. Great atmosphere and service, highly recommend.

The food was delicious and always came out fresh. The simple design, lighting, and welcoming staff made the restaurant visit memorable. Satiel deserves a special thanks for being helpful, having a great attitude, and greeting us with a smile. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone new in Windhoek, Namibia.

The breakfast was well organised, though my overall experience was quite a miss. The restaurant was missing a lot of menu items. This is an old hotel, and the rooms could use renovation to match the beautifully designed reception. They're spacious, but the hallways smell dusty from the old carpets, and the bathrooms have bathtubs with aging taps.

We left the Christmas buffet lunch at the Mercure Hotel in Windhoek feeling it was overpriced and badly managed, and I can't recommend it for a special occasion. Four of us paid N$1,860, or N$465 each, expecting a festive meal and good food. Instead, the event was disorganised from the start. Staff were unfriendly, we had to get our own welcome drinks, and service was slow. The people working behind the buffet seemed uninterested and unhelpful. The food was mediocre, though not bad, and didn't justify the price. We expected a wider choice, especially for dessert, but the options were limited and uninspired, and they ran out quickly. The macarons were gone halfway through service, and we were told there weren't enough. Our table for four had only two Christmas crackers, and it seemed the same at other tables. When we ordered draft beer, it came in large boot-shaped glasses. For another round, staff said they didn't have enough glasses, so we had to finish quickly to let them reuse them. The whole thing felt far from festive.
