Best Western Hotel Le Paris

The service was the biggest problem. We had to ask reception every day for cleaning and fresh towels, and even then it was sometimes missed. During our seven-night stay, our room wasn't attended to on three days. They also repainted the walls on our floor without warning. One morning the corridor was covered in plastic, and after they plastered the walls, residue was left on our door and handle. It wiped off easily, but still felt dirty. At check-in we paid the tourist tax, then at checkout they tried to charge it again unless we could show a receipt. Nobody asked how the stay had been. The reception staff varied in their service and English skills, and while I don't want to lump everyone together, the standard was simply low. The location isn't in a particularly nice area, though public transport connections are good and there are cozy spots within a short walk. Our room was very small, and so were the elevator and corridors. Breakfast was small too, and at €18 I wouldn't recommend it. You can get a feast for half the price at a bakery or restaurant around the corner.

The location was good, but there were a few room issues. The shower door gave us trouble, the air conditioning was turned off, and room service didn't replace the tissues or toilet paper. There was no cover sheet either, just a bottom sheet and a duvet.

The friendly staff were helpful, and breakfast was really good, even compared with hotels in a higher category. The air conditioning worked especially well when we needed it. By Paris standards, our room was very clean. It's on a side street near the edge of the 12th district. The elevator and rooms are very small, so whether it feels worth it probably depends on what you pay. The location may not be the best, but public transport links are good.

It's a basic motel, and I'd skip the expensive breakfast. The staff were friendly enough, though their English was limited. The local eateries are decent but nothing special. Vincennes Tram and Metro stops are nearby, and central Paris is just 15 minutes away.
