The shower pressure was fantastic, and the bathroom felt really inviting. We stayed as a family and had a lovely time. It’s a great boutique hotel with courteous staff, spotless rooms, and comfortable bedding. Getting there wasn’t very difficult either. A clean, comfortable option for families.

The morning reception staff, Valentina and her partner, were amazing. They made me feel very comfortable, and I think their customer service is the best in the hotel. The place is clean and looks beautiful, with well-kept rooms and common areas, so it seems high-end at first. But the good points stop there. The hotel tries to offer fine dining with an American-style feel, but that doesn’t work for me in Benin City. Flies in the dining room often ruined the atmosphere, and the experience felt more about appearances than substance. Much of the menu wasn’t available, which made meals frustrating. The hotel also gives the impression that management is very money-driven, with little transparency. No one told guests that the “free breakfast” covered just one person, so I only found out after being charged. They also don’t warn you beforehand that the hotel is fully cashless, which can be inconvenient. Housekeeping didn’t clean well or replace the towels properly. When I asked for towels because my room had none, the staff member was rude, and I didn’t like his tone. Aside from the front desk lady, most of the staff seemed phony and insincere. Despite how clean and attractive it looks, the dining, lack of transparency, and service made the stay difficult.

The food was good quality and quite tasty, but very expensive. Parking inside the compound is limited, even though the hotel is well located. My deluxe room was decent enough, though rather small. Checkout is at 11am, earlier than the usual noon.

I had a lovely time at Lotus restaurant. The staff were very courteous, the ambience was lovely, and the food was so “mouth friendly,” as I told the chef. I’d rate the experience five stars.
