Sugarhouse Hotel

The rooms are nice, and the staff were very accommodating. A really nice place.

Good quality service at an affordable price. You should visit!

The room was decent, with a big comfortable bed, a fridge, a work table, and a water heater that worked fine. The staff were friendly and courteous, though they don't work the night shift, so getting help after 8pm could be difficult. When I asked for a battery for the TV remote, I was told to swap the batteries with the AC remote. The AC wasn't working very well, but they did bring me a standing fan. The lighting was very dim, as if the room was meant only for sleeping rather than reading. The hotel is on a busy road, so it's easy to reach, but traffic noise and constant honking are part of the stay. Morning prayers from a nearby mosque come through a loudspeaker, and there's also generator noise. It's not a bad place if noise doesn't bother you and you don't need a bright room.

The surroundings are friendly and pleasant, but maintenance needs attention. There's a foul smell on the stairs from the ground floor, and it feels like they're short staffed across the bar, kitchen, and reception. The rooms also need a more thorough cleaning. It seems the cleaners just remake the bed after guests leave.
