The second floor porch has great hammocks for watching people and taking in the river views. My private room with a bathroom was simple and clean, with just the right local charm. The family running Nena Lodge greeted me warmly, and their guides took me on a nature tour that turned into an adventure of a lifetime. There was great Wi-Fi, coffee, and breakfast every day. If you’re heading hours into Nicaragua’s beautiful jungles, I highly recommend Nena Lodge and Tours in El Castillo.

The room was a little worn, and the showers and toilets were shared. Still, the value for money was unbeatable. They were incredibly kind and the service was impeccable. They even sent me something I’d forgotten. So kind, thank you!
