The event crowds took over much of the hotel during my stay, and getting to my room could mean waiting over five minutes. As the picture shows, they didn't seem to care whether other guests were there. Younger people made so much noise at night that sleep was difficult; I heard someone yelling at them because it had become too much. The room had an air conditioner so noisy it was hard to sleep, and it made the room uncomfortable. The carpet had a strange damp smell. The hotel is also a bit far from everything, so I don't think it's a good choice for tourism. The restaurant was neither bad nor excellent, and the menu was small. On my last dinner, after eating there for four days, they asked me for an ID number. I don't know why. It was the first place I'd encountered that asking for one, and it made me wonder whether they thought I would steal something, when they might be the biggest thieves. Internet gets 4/10. If you happen to have bad luck with both a wedding and a sports event, this is the worst of the worst. I don't know how this country expects to bring tourists back with so much work to do. I don't know whether they want tourists here, but they need to change their attitude and have some people speak English, or it won't be good.

We only stayed one night, so there wasn't time to try all the amenities. It was still a welcome break before our long bus ride to El Salvador. Check-in was easy, and reception spoke both English and Spanish. The beds were very comfortable, the shower refreshing, and the breakfast buffet had plenty of tasty choices.

There's nothing particularly appealing within walking distance. The hotel's right side isn't a good choice because casino music plays loudly around the clock. It's well maintained, though it seems like an older hotel and needs recurring maintenance. The international airport in Managua is about 35 minutes away.

The shower had barely any water pressure, and the food was terrible. They served the same thing every day, Gallo Pinto, Gallo Pinto. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I'd confirmed with my travel agent that my room included breakfast, but the hotel said it didn't. My family and I were eating when the entire management team came to our table and embarrassed us over a $10 breakfast. We'd been staying nearly two weeks. The restaurant service was rubbish too. I don't recommend coming to this Holiday Inn conventional centre.

The website lists free breakfast as an included amenity, but when I arrived they said it costs $15 per person. Even the supervisors couldn't explain or make it right.
