The natural setting is beautiful and peaceful. I saw lots of birds living freely there. Che is an amazing, interesting host. We had great conversations, and he helps with information and contacts whenever he can, even with his super busy days and three lovely dogs to care for. I really respect the effort Che makes to change the community, or at least the attitudes of the workers he works with, about caring for nature and not throwing trash in the streets. He even went with two of his workers to clean the road leading to the street for free, doing something the people who live there should take part in. He does it from the heart. A lot of love and respect for Che!

We booked one night and ended up staying seven. Che is friendly, generous, and interesting, and I’d be surprised if this isn’t one of the most interesting and amazing places to stay on Ometepe. We tried both the two-story and single-story apartments. Each had a well-equipped kitchen, dining area, and bathroom with warm water, which seemed kind of crazy given the location. There was even a blender for making fresh smoothies at home. The water views are hard to beat, and the wind, waves, and trees made for really good sleep. Book this place!

At “Mirador del Lago” we had a beautiful view right in front of the lake. “El Bamboo” is a place made with a lot of love, and I was amazed by how Che created it. We enjoyed our stay to the fullest. Che can help with transport, recommendations, laundry service, or a scooter if you need one. His dogs greet you like their owner, and we fell in love with them. Highly recommended, and thanks for such a unique place!

The location is really good, with lots of nice local restaurants nearby, especially cafe Campestre. El Bamboo was one of my favorite places from our whole central America trip. The cabin was beautiful and very comfortable, with a well-equipped kitchen and hot water in the shower. Che was welcoming and took us up to his coffee plantation, where he showed us local wildlife, including birds and monkeys. His dogs are really cute too. Would highly recommend Che's El Bamboo.

The cabins are spacious and really well made, even prettier in person than in the pictures. The area is great for getting out in nature, and Che is a great guy with lovely dogs. He even took us to see the Petroglyphs. The house and garden made this our best stay in Nicaragua. 10/10, would recommend!
