The apartment is a pretty, small place overlooking the Prinsengrach Canal, with tram stop 4 right nearby. There’s a bar cafe and a supermarket close by too. It’s a B&B, not a hotel, with the basics for a short stay and no daily cleaning. The staff were polite and helpful, and we’ll come back. A few things could make it more comfortable: the two wooden doors have holes and need repair and paint, the wall behind the clothes hanger is quite marked and needs repainting, and the sleeping pillows need replacing.

The owners were incredibly welcoming and generous with local tips, and the spot is hard to beat: close to the tram and an easy walk to the city centre and other main attractions. It’s a quaint, clean, well-kept property. The stairs up to the rooms are narrow and quite steep, and there’s no air conditioning, which is common around here. There are two beautiful, friendly cats on-site, so anyone with allergies should plan for that. We didn’t mind the noise, but a restaurant and bar directly downstairs stays open until 1am, so it may be noisy with the window open. The WiFi was also a bit unreliable at times.
