Adriaen van Ostade B&B

I spent five nights in the Balcony Room in June. It's large, with a lovely balcony for catching some sun. The area is quiet, with birds instead of traffic noise. Jasper was an amazing host, so friendly and helpful, and gave us really useful directions for getting there in the most direct and least stressful way. The food in the fridge is included, which is a bonus.

I enjoyed my stay and would consider coming back. The location is excellent, two blocks from the De Pijp metro and tram, 10 minutes by transit from Central Station, and a 20-minute walk to the museums. It's a quiet residential neighborhood rather than a touristy one. As a bonus, you can often spot two beautiful cats in the window of the house next to Cafe Liev. The only early sounds I heard were church bells and birds chirping. I heard nothing from the neighbors. I'm not sure why it's called a Luxury B&B: it's a simple room in someone's home, and there's no breakfast. Guests do get little sandwiches each day, plus a range of snacks and drinks. Jasper kindly helped with our luggage at check-in and check-out. The rooms are on the fourth floor of a classic Dutch home, up steep, narrow stairs like at the Anne Frank Huis. I wouldn't recommend it for anyone with mobility issues or lots of luggage. The Top Room had a walk-in shower, and towels were provided. Bring your own shampoo, conditioner, and other beauty products. There's a heating and air conditioning unit, but I didn't use it in spring. Furnishings are limited and there's no kitchen, so I wouldn't suggest it for an extended stay.

De Pijp is such a great place to stay, especially if you want a break from the busy feel of Amsterdam Central. There are great restaurants nearby, and the train is so close, about a five-minute ride to Central Station. We loved it here! The fridge was stocked, which was a lovely touch, and they upgraded us to the bigger room. It's a gorgeous traditional Dutch property with a big bed and a quiet space. Thank you so much!

The location is quiet and safe, close to the Subway and within walking distance of lots of attractions. Jasper was a great, very responsible host. We stayed three nights at Adriaen van Ostade B&B and would highly recommend it. Our room was clean, and each day the fridge was restocked with fruit, cheese, soft drinks, beers, and sandwiches. The Nespresso machine and caps were a great addition. Like other reviewers said, the stairs up to the third/fourth floor are very steep. It wasn't an issue for us, though. Jasper took care of all our heavy bags and carried them up to the room.
