Hotel Prinsenhof Amsterdam

Good location, but the room was freezing all night, never getting above 13c. We had to sleep in hoodies and coats. The hotel had advertised heating, but it didn't work, and the owner told us at checkout that he already knew. He offered a 10% refund, which we turned down because we found it insulting. Unbearable.

The stairs are really steep, though I guess that's normal in Amsterdam. Everything else was lovely: the staff were very friendly, the room was comfortable, and the location was great. I'd definitely stay here again if I come back to Amsterdam.

The room looked more dated than it did in the advert, and those steep stairs are definitely a problem if you can't climb them. But the staff were lovely, and the location was fantastic, with the number 4 tram just a few feet from the front door. We only needed a base before going off to explore Amsterdam, and it worked well for that. Good value for money, and we'd stay again.

Small room, but it was clean and had good facilities. The staff were friendly, polite, and helpful, and the price was very good value. The location is great, close to the city centre, with a really nice cafe next door.
