Guest House Amsterdam - Hostel

Way overpriced, and it’s not a good place to stay. The owners weren’t very courteous. They were shouting at each other while talking to us on the phone at the same time. One of them left us waiting in the corridor for 20 minutes while he was on the phone or off at the car wash. The guy seems to run an “airbnb”, “carwash”, and “pakistani takeout” all at once, in the same location. I’m certain something fishy is going on here. The house was filthy, there were no private showers, and the toilet was tiny. The shower looked like it was made for animals. Don’t stay here, find a proper hotel.

Absolutely disgusting. DO NOT GO HERE! It was so bad I wouldn’t let my animals sleep in a place like this.

The staff were at least somewhat nice, though sometimes unresponsive when we tried to arrange a late checkout. We contacted them 12 hours in advance. The rooms were boiling hot, and there were SO MANY mosquitoes. I woke up every day covered in bites on my face and all over my body. I was terrified and worried they might be bed bugs, but we never confirmed that. Crumbs on the sheets and stains on the mattresses made me question how well, or whether, the place was cleaned. The showers always smelled like urine and had what looked like growing mould. It’s cheap, but the small savings aren’t worth it. I’d definitely pay more to avoid dealing with all that.

Nobody here is kind to you, and it’s very far and very unfair. Just a horrible experience! Please go somewhere else.
