Stanley Collection Hotel Hegra Amsterdam

We had a huge, very comfortable bed on the ground floor, and the hot water pressure was great. The staff were amazingly friendly and helped me celebrate a special occasion. It’s a fantastic boutique hotel in an excellent location. The room can be quite loud at night because of where it is, so if you want the windows open, bring earplugs and an eye mask.

The hotel is clean and cozy, in a historic building with an authentic Dutch feel. I especially liked the free coffee and the lovely canal views. Staff were welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Hotel Hegra is right in the heart of Amsterdam, on the Herengracht canal, and everything you need is within walking distance. I’d highly recommend it.

The front desk were welcoming, and I had a great conversation with Paulo. I stayed three nights in early January at this hidden gem. The location is excellent, with easy transport to the city’s sightseeing spots and lots of food choices within walking distance. My room was small but well equipped, with water refilled every day and delicious welcome cookies. There’s also a first-floor coffee corner with coffee, hot chocolate, cookies, and more. A garden-view room should be very quiet, aside from noise from neighbors who aren’t mindful of their volume. In general it was fine, and that’s a common issue in old buildings.

The rooms were clean and cozy, and I felt comfortable there and slept peacefully. They can feel a little claustrophobic, especially for two people with luggage. The hotel is extremely central, with everything right nearby, and communication with the hotel was excellent. Just note there’s no reception at night. There’s also no lift, and the stairs are very steep.
