House of Adam Hotel

Getting around Amsterdam by public transport was easy from here, and the hotel was peaceful. The room was tidy, and the staff made us feel very welcome and were helpful. We didn’t mind using the stairs, though anyone with mobility issues might want to consider them. The price was excellent for Amsterdam. Highly recommended!

The location is far from the city center, and the photos online gave a misleading impression of the place. The rooms were noisy and very poorly insulated, with dust everywhere. Our room was never properly cleaned: used coffee capsules stayed by the machine, and the broken toilet paper holder lay on the floor throughout my stay. Access was a constant hassle. I booked four nights, but the key card worked for only one. The digital codes they sent also worked for just one night. I spent long stretches waiting outside for someone to unlock the door remotely, sometimes as late as 10 p.m. Access was handled by an outside provider whose communication was a disaster. Check-in and check-out were by video call, and there was nobody on site if you had trouble with your room or getting in. Nothing seemed to work, and there was no organization or professionalism. This was a terrible experience, and you can easily find much better elsewhere. Absolutely avoid.

We had a quad room with two double beds and a little nook for reading or watching TV. It was sparkling clean and had a quietly glamorous feel. The staff made the stay, though. Communication was quick and friendly, and even though we checked in late, the virtual desk gave us genuinely personal service. It felt futuristic. We enjoyed ourselves so much that I was sad to leave.

The mattress was comfortable, and I liked having two pillows with different firmness. There was a kettle and coffee machine in the room, and the bathroom had everything we needed. The rooms were clean, modern, and lovely. It’s a peaceful, green part of Amsterdam that’s still fairly close to the center. I wish every hotel treated travelers this well. Thank you!
