ibis Styles Amsterdam Central Station

The reception service was good. I didn’t try breakfast or any other meals, so I can’t comment on those. The modern room was clean and nice, with no complaints, and the air conditioning worked really well when it was 30C outside. Noise didn’t bother me until the morning cleaning started. The location is excellent, with shops, restaurants, and attractions all close by or within walking distance. It’s a short ride from the airport to the central station, then a short walk to the hotel.

Compact but cosy rooms, just right for a city break, and the beds were very comfortable. The staff were friendly, too. The hotel is in the city centre beside Centraal station, and the price was reasonable. We had a comfortable, cosy three-night stay and would happily come back.

Piotr was incredibly helpful, and the service from the rest of the team was nice. The hotel was clean and tidy, and the location is incredible, close to everything. Breakfast was underwhelming, though, and even the juice tasted very synthetic. Our first room’s window looked straight into the hotel, so people walking past could see in and we had to keep the curtain closed. It felt boxed in. We asked the front desk and got a great high-floor room on the fifth floor in the same category. The shower was very nice, and it was easy to set the room temperature how I liked it. But the toilet was squeezed into such a narrow space that using it, including washing with the bidet, was really difficult. There was nowhere to put a suitcase. Apart from that, the room was clean and nice. Maybe we’ll return, hopefully to a room that ticks all the boxes next time.

I found this place while planning online and was glad I did. It’s very close to Central Train Station and most of the tourist spots. By US standards, the rooms are tiny, and with four pieces of luggage for our extended holiday, there isn’t much space, but we’re managing. The room is clean, housekeeping is provided, and we’re well cared for. I’d definitely stay here again.
