Kimpton De Witt Amsterdam

We were welcomed warmly after booking through the Chase reserve portal, and the service was thoughtful throughout. The room was tastefully decorated and spacious for the city center, with a really relaxing feel. I had forgotten a few amenities, and they provided replacements at no charge. The hotel is in a great location, and the complementary bike loan service came in handy. We also enjoyed the creative, unusual cocktails at the cocktail bar (Lyan), plus a tasty buffet breakfast with plenty of choice. Highly, highly recommend, and it's a place I'd book again in Amsterdam.

The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and clearly well cared for, and the reception team made us feel welcome right away. I came back to the Kimpton after eight years and was glad to find it still fantastic. There was a calm, relaxing feel, with mostly mature guests and no noisy youngsters around, which we appreciated. Each day from 4-5pm, guests can enjoy complimentary wine and beer at social hour. It was a nice way to unwind after exploring and meet other travellers. My only small suggestion is to put coffee in the room. There was a coffee machine but no coffee, which would have been great first thing in the morning. It's a minor point in an otherwise excellent stay. If I'm back in Amsterdam, I'd happily stay here again and recommend it to family and friends.

The staff made this stay for me. I judge hotels and restaurants by the people working there, and every single person looked after us so well. The beds were the most comfortable I've ever had in a hotel. My four-year-old granddaughter loved the stay, apart from the cold, windy weather. At checkout, she was given Dutch waffles to take along and ate the last one on the flight home. We stayed three days and two nights, and the hotel was about 10 minutes from the main train station, making the frequent train transfer from Schipol quick. My granddaughter received a cuddly soft toy and a book about Amsterdam as a welcome gift, and especially liked the map in it. We were very well cared for at breakfast, which was fantastic, and at dinner each evening, since she insisted on eating at the hotel. I'd recommend it without hesitation to families, couples, or solo travellers.

A few minutes' walk from the central station and right across from the trams, the Kimpton De Witt is very conveniently located. The people working there were warm and pleasant, and the rooms were clean and nice. The showers felt like a warm hug. I loved the little touches, including turndown service with a bottle of water left by the nightstand. There's also a cute bar in the building. I'll definitely stay here again when I'm back in Amsterdam.
