Krisotel

We were upgraded for our anniversary, and the little extras the staff arranged were such a thoughtful gesture. They were welcoming and went out of their way for us the whole stay. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and surprisingly quiet. There are plenty of restaurants, cafes, bars and theatres nearby, and the tram is a short walk away, about ten minutes into town. Brilliant hotel in an ideal spot, highly recommend.

I booked one night for a concert. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable, and it was handy to have a kettle in the room as well as a tea and coffee machine downstairs. The staff were really friendly. Street noise and sounds from other guests moving around were noticeable, but I usually wear earplugs, so it didn't bother me too much. A lovely stay.

The room and bathroom were compact but perfectly adequate, clean and in great condition. The front desk staff were wonderful, always around and friendly and helpful. It’s well placed for both walking and public transport, with plenty going on nearby. It’s definitely a budget hotel, but it exceeded my expectations. The spiral stairs down to our room were quite treacherous. That’s not unusual in Amsterdam, though, so travel light or leave large bags at the front desk.

The room itself was spacious and nicely furnished. I marked it down because it was in the basement, reached by steep, winding stairs, and directly below Reception and the Dining area. Staff seemed to start work around 0510, and the noise woke us each morning. The air conditioning was also so loud that we had to switch it off.
