We stayed in the garden cabin, and the whole thing slanted enough to feel unsafe. We skipped the breakfast, which cost a staggering €17 per person for cold cuts, cheese, and a basic selection of fruit. The room had a smoking or non-smoking option, and the toilet seat wasn’t properly screwed down. Staff were helpful when we asked specific questions, and room service brought fresh towels each day. Getting around was easy, with several tram lines right nearby. There are plenty of coffeeshops around too. Food prices were average, though cappuccino could cost as much as €6.50 in some places.

My flight was cancelled because of the extreme weather in Amsterdam, but the hotel still charged me 50% of the room cost without any understanding or empathy. Charging for nothing under the “cancellation policy” is ridiculous. The owner should be ashamed.

The room felt cramped and uncomfortable, and the food wasn’t tasty. Breakfast was just frozen meat and cheese with very dry bread, yet it was overpriced when it should have been free. Without a doubt, this is the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in.

I paid for an Economy Twin Room with a private bathroom through Booking.com, but was given a different, clearly cheaper room without a private bathroom. When I complained, reception staff were rude and unhelpful and blamed Booking.com. Booking.com then said the hotel was responsible for supplying the room I’d booked. Neither took responsibility or offered a solution. It feels like a scam to pay for one thing and get something much worse with no accountability. Booking.com also wouldn’t let me leave a review there. I had a very disappointing experience and would strongly advise others to be careful. I don’t recommend this hotel.

My room seemed to be directly under a staircase, with loud banging all the time. When I asked for sightseeing suggestions, the reception staff gave me a brief, uninterested answer. The staff on arrival had been very friendly, but the next day they were unfriendly, arrogant, and dismissive. At check-in, the man was really friendly and would have helped me with my bags, but I didn’t ask. At checkout, my request for help was first refused, even though my physical disability was visible. I was put in a basement room reached by a very narrow, steep staircase with a handrail on only one side. It was unreasonable access, especially with luggage or for guests with disabilities. The room was unkempt and dirty, with cosmetic and functional damage. The TV didn’t work, I couldn’t adjust the heating, the drain smelled awful, and the hallway smelled of urine. It didn’t seem to have been cleaned: the bathroom was dirty, the floor was stained, and there were dark hairs that couldn’t have been mine because my hair is a different color. This was the worst hotel experience I’ve had.
