Rho Hotel

The good parts were a fairly central location, a pretty good breakfast, pleasant staff, and a large room and bathroom. I only stayed two nights before moving to another hotel, though I’d planned to stay longer. The place felt like a throwback to 1965 Russia, with very dated, plain rooms. I’d give it two stars at best. The raised bathtub felt dangerous to climb in and out of, and I slipped a bit even while holding the bar. The fluorescent lighting throughout was bizarre and frankly depressing. The walls and ceilings were thin, and I could constantly hear someone walking above on what seemed like old wooden floors. The room was clean, but its carpet and dropped ceiling looked old too. I wouldn’t recommend it. If you like a time capsule, though, it might suit you.

The room was tiny and poorly soundproofed. I could clearly hear neighboring rooms, as well as a lot of noise from outside. Housekeeping didn’t come every day, and the room was left as it was, without cleaning or tidying. I was unhappy with reception. Staff didn’t pay attention to guests’ requests, and my special request wasn’t fulfilled. Nobody explained why or followed up. The luggage storage also concerned me: there was no security, access control, or cameras inside, so anyone could enter. That’s unacceptable for a hotel. For this level of service and comfort, the hotel is too expensive and poor value. I’d skip it, since there are much better options nearby for the same price or less.

The rooms were basic, but clean, comfortable, and well maintained. We heard some noise from nearby rooms through the slightly thin walls, though the hotel provided earplugs, which helped. We really enjoyed our stay at Rho Hotel. The concierge staff were incredibly kind and suggested things to do around the city. We’d absolutely stay again.

The hotel is nice, and the staff are very friendly. I stayed from the 1st June till the 4th. I had two issues. I drink tea, and it was a pain to pay for my drink and then find no milk by the coffee machine. They need to keep some there. The bigger problem was the showers. They were inconsistent, switching from red hot to freezing cold, with no way to settle on a comfortable temperature. The water pressure was weak too. It wasn’t just my room, my friends had the same shower problem.
