What really makes this place different is the warm atmosphere. It feels welcoming in a way a typical hostel doesn’t, and the staff genuinely care. The rooms are clean and surprisingly quiet, and the breakfast alone makes a stay worthwhile. It’s right by Nieuwmarkt, so getting around is easy. Shelter City is a nonprofit, and the money you spend there supports vulnerable people in Amsterdam. Your stay really does make a difference. Highly recommend.

The chapel made my stay especially memorable. We prayed, sang, and read the Word together there, and it felt like a safe haven in the middle of such a busy city. It’s a special place for Christians, but there’s no pressure if you’re not a believer. Everyone is welcome. I stayed with two of my girlfriends and we had a great time. The hostel is beautifully renovated, and the crew are so welcoming and ready to help. Dinner was amazing, props to the chef! I’d love to return in summer and enjoy the garden in good weather.

Right in central Amsterdam, this is the best hostel hotel I’ve ever stayed in. It’s a peaceful place, close to Central Station, restaurants, and cruises. There’s even a chapel inside where you can pray, read the Bible, or manifest, and a Bible is available too. Amazing. Jane Frm Philippines 🇵🇭

Everything felt new and fresh, and I was completely satisfied. The rooms were clean, the mattresses comfortable, and the blankets warm. Thanks to the staff for such good service. Everyone was friendly and ready to help. 💯 satisfied 😌

The location is so central, and everything was clean. But what I’ll remember most is the feeling of being welcomed. The staff are there for you, and sharing dinner with the other guests on Friday gave us a real chance to connect. I stayed one night and loved the location, the people, and the whole atmosphere. Can’t wait to come back ❤️
