The Highlander

We'd definitely come back to Amsterdam and stay here again. The location worked really well, and the room was spacious and comfortable, with a good bed and pillows. Staff were friendly without hovering. There was also a 24/7 bar with complimentary beer, wine, and snacks. We loved our three-night stay.

The room setup was the biggest drawback. It was much smaller than we expected, with nowhere to put clothes or even open our luggage. The bathroom was basically part of the room: the toilet had a door, but the sink and shower didn’t, so there was no privacy and showering could wake up your partner. The bed was very soft, and the pillows were unusually high and hard. Dark rooms, black carpet, and black toilets gave the place a strange feel, though I think it was very clean. We did have a great time. The lobby was a nice place to hang out with friends, and the complimentary food and drinks were a lovely extra. The service was fantastic and the location was perfect. Still, I’m not sure I’d choose it again.

The happy hour was worth its weight in gold after a day of sightseeing. Our room at the Highland House had updated decor, a fun theme, and comfortable beds. Adnan was lovely at check-in, giving us helpful information and making the arrival easy. We had an excellent stay.

The lounge was a great surprise, with complimentary drinks and snacks, and breakfast had everything from cold to hot options. Our room was clean and comfortable, and even had a built-in Bluetooth speaker system. Booking and check-in both went smoothly, and the hotel is close to everything. I’d recommend staying here.
