The castle and its grounds made for a really special weekend. It’s centuries old, with antique furniture and decorations everywhere, so you can feel the history around you. Our room was great, and we enjoyed walking in the beautiful garden. There are lots of interesting places to explore in the area too. We booked through Airbnb, and the breakfast was both tasty and generous, with local food. It was an elevated experience, and I’d highly recommend it!

George was such a kind host, and we had a charming, unusual stay. We borrowed the bikes and rode through nearby villages. The castle was warm and clean, with hot water, and breakfast was delicious. A real highlight of our time in the Netherlands.

The tower room was like walking into a fairytale, and the castle grounds were just as dreamy, with beautiful views and a wonderfully peaceful feel. The whole area is lovely to explore. Joris looked after us so thoughtfully and gave excellent recommendations, which made us feel like royalty. Our stay at Sterkenburg Castle was unforgettable, and we’re already planning to come back.

Our room was high up in the tower, reached by a narrow spiral staircase. Thick brick walls and little windows made it easy to imagine the castle’s old defenses. We could also go out onto the roof terrace, where the view over the countryside was beautiful. We watched the sunset from there. A stay here really feels like stepping back in time, and I won’t forget it.

Joris’s friendly, welcoming manner turned what could have been an ordinary stay into something close to memorable. The atmosphere and reception were superb, and it’s a very agreeable place to stay. Only time will tell.
