After a long day at Wildlands Emmen, we had a lovely dinner at the hotel. The service was warm and friendly, and the person looking after our table had the kids laughing, and us too, with some dancing. We definitely want to return.

The room was basic but suited us, and it was spotlessly clean. The bed was really comfortable, and we all slept well, which we needed after a long drive and before two nights on an air mattress. There was no kettle, but we had a small fan, hairdryer, and toiletries. Breakfast was delicious: a fresh hard-boiled egg, creamy yoghurt, and plenty of meat, cheese, bread, pastries, and fruit. The sausage, which I’m guessing was liver sausage, was new to me and so good I’m trying to find some now we’re back home in the uk. We’d booked for an overnight stay during the Truckstar Festival at the nearby TT Circuit. Parking was in a small, unpaved wooded area around the corner, but after three laps we couldn’t find a space. We pulled over and asked inside, and they kindly let us use the “no parking” area behind the hotel. We parked, checked in at the bar, paid for the room in full, and added breakfast. Highly recommend.

The terrace is a lovely spot when the weather’s good, and it’s often busy. The food is absolutely delicious every time, and the service is fantastic and friendly. My Dutch husband especially likes the old-fashioned, typically Dutch dishes they serve, like witlof and stoofpot. Highly recommend 👌.

A nice spot for dinner or lunch, and also for coffee and cake. It can get quite busy, particularly on weekends and warm, sunny days, so make a reservation for dinner or you might be turned away because there aren’t any tables left. In summer there are quite a few outdoor tables too. Just know that some are very close to the main road, which comes with the restaurant being on a three-way junction.
