The cabins are very quiet from the radio upstairs, but I wish the radio on the second floor had been half as loud. It played constantly and filled the space instead of just sitting in the background. There’s also no sound insulation, so you hear everything around you, including footsteps above, snoring, and even farting through the wall. Still, I loved the boat experience enough to extend my stay by a day. Amicitia inspires me, and I hope to return. I took some photos on the main floor and roof, and highly recommend the place. The roof has benches and chairs with lovely views of the canal and old buildings. Inside, the second floor is a cozy place to relax, read, eat, and drink the coffee and tea always left on the table. The boat is very cozy, like the Netherlands in general, and has three floors. The first has cabins with bunk beds, sinks, wardrobes, and small windows almost level with the water, so birds can swim up while you wake. I love unusual, cozy places that spark creativity, are within walking distance of the city center, and still offer a quiet corner. Amicitia gave me that. Breakfast had sweet and savory choices, enough for the morning, with sandwich fixings, granola, or pancakes with jam and chocolate spread. It was the same each day, but simple and tasty. I’m very glad I found the place through Booking. It was my first time living on a boat, and it was wonderful. Thanks to the sailor for the great experience.
