Fletcher Hotel-Paleis Stadhouderlijk Hof

The beds were a highlight, really soft, and the location is great. Our room was just okay, and the poor view was a bit disappointing. There was a little bar beside the larger bistro, but we never found anyone there to serve us. You can also hear people walking around upstairs.

I was in town for a concert and stayed the night. The building is beautiful and elegant, and the staff were helpful. They even upgraded my room for free after an error on their end, so the stay was sublime. My only small suggestion is adding a way to cast remotely to the luxurious TV in the room. Honestly, I'd give it six stars if I could.

Breakfast was the one good part. The room was only 5 degrees when I arrived, and I couldn't open a window. The staff were unfriendly and didn't want to fix the problem. We were charged tourist tax twice, and they wouldn't let me park outside for an hour. Parking is a seven-minute walk away, so this is absolutely unsuitable for people with disabilities.

It's about a ten-minute walk from the station, but if a good night's sleep matters, avoid this place at all costs. Some of the staff are great at their jobs; others need more training. Smiling isn't enough, they need to understand their customers and know what to offer each person.
