Hilton Amsterdam Airport Schiphol Hotel

Very clean, spacious, modern, and quiet. It's connected to the airport but at the furthest point from it. Still, you can bring a luggage buggy from the airport right to the entrance, and the whole way is indoors, so it's manageable. I'd definitely recommend it.

The gym was the main thing I paid attention to, and it had enough for two solid full-body workouts: dumbbells, a flat bench, medicine balls, and a cable machine. The cardio setup was excellent too, with four treadmills, two ellipticals, and an indoor bike. All the machines were Technogym and in perfect working order. There's a hot tub for relaxing afterwards, but don't expect a pool you can swim laps in. The Bonvoy app description made swimming sound possible, though it isn't. A proper lap pool would improve an otherwise very good setup. My stay at Hilton Amsterdam Airport was top notch. The staff were friendly, the room was great, and breakfast had an impressive variety.

I loved the sauna and spa, and using them was free. The spa could use a little TLC, though: paint was coming off the pool, there were lots of puddles, and there weren't enough towels or water cups. Apart from those issues, I really enjoyed relaxing there during my trip. I was welcomed with a warm smile, which was lovely. The staff gave me a top-floor room overlooking the airport, and it was very cool. I sleep lightly, so I worried about the noise, but the windows at Hilton Schiphol were unbelievably good. With planes flying all night, I didn't hear a thing. It was quieter than sleeping in the countryside. Bravo for the design. If you're considering this hotel, I'd recommend booking it. I personally prefer an outside-facing room, so make sure to ask for one if that's what you like. Thank you, Hilton Schiphol.

The Executive Room on the 11th floor was spacious and quiet, with everything I expected at this level. The hotel itself is impressive, with a striking interior, clean modern lines, lots of space, and a real Hilton flagship feel. Check-in went smoothly, although the man who checked me in seemed to have trouble with my name, even though it's been the same for my ten years as a Hilton Gold member. It wasn't a big deal, but it made things awkward. Breakfast was disappointing for a Hilton this size. The selection felt limited, with only chicken sausages and no beef or pork for some reason. The scrambled eggs were much too salty. There was enough to eat, but nothing that made me want to get up early for it. The hotel is technically on-site, but it's at the far end of Schiphol's covered tunnel, a longer walk than the other hotels clustered closer together. It's easy enough, though after a long travel day it feels like a trek. Even with the service hiccup and breakfast, it's still a very good hotel and feels a cut above the usual airport options. A few improvements to those areas would make it excellent.
