Fletcher Hotel-Restaurant Jan van Scorel

We barely had the spa and pool to ourselves, so their small size wasn't an issue. The water did feel a little chemical to me, though. The area is amazing and the food was good, with care taken over allergies. Our room could've been cleaner, and the bedding wasn't comfortable: there was only a thin, unfitted sheet on the mattress, which shifted overnight and left us sleeping directly on the mattress. All in all, it was OK.

I wouldn't recommend staying here or come back. The room was dated and had no soap or shampoo, and the bed setup was wrong: we'd booked a king and two twins but got four single beds. When we complained, we were told sorry, what we'd booked wasn't available. At the front desk, the man kept saying, “Sorry, we're closed,” when I first came in and again when my husband walked in. I was confused because I needed to check in. Maybe he meant the restaurant was closed? My son was frightened and couldn't sleep without the light on, convinced the place was haunted.

We really enjoyed our stay at Jan van Scorel Fletcher hotel, one of our best Fletcher experiences. The room was spacious and nice, with a perfect view. It's a terrific area for walking and biking.

The room was a pleasant surprise in its size, and we had a great three-day stay at the Fletcher hotel. We were very close to the beach for beautiful sunsets, and renting a bike was handy since it could be used for everything. Breakfast is worth recommending, with lots of choice and a well-laid-out spread. Staff responded promptly and paid close attention to what customers needed. One issue: the cleaners came in while we were changing. We asked them to return later, but they didn't come back to clean or leave fresh towels, so I had to ask for towels myself. Parking needs attention. The area is small, though that's not all the hotel's fault, and it doesn't help when guests take up two spaces. People should be more considerate of other customers.
