Star Lodge Hotels Utrecht

The beds were comfy, the rooms very clean, and the staff super helpful and nice. The lobby and other public spaces inside are very pleasant, with a self-service bar and coffee you can pay for. There are also two good restaurants right next to the hotel in the same area, with indoor and outdoor tables. The only thing I'd improve in our room is the WC/shower, which needs shelves to store your things if you're staying longer.

I liked the country feel around the place, even though downtown is close. We were welcomed warmly, and there’s a handy bus stop nearby. The rooms are clean and modern, with a nice touch, though the shower and sink run along the wall behind a glass partition from the bed. The price felt fair for the quality, and there’s a nice bistro close by if you don’t want to go far.

The only real snag for me was breakfast, since vegan choices were pretty much bread and cucumber. The staff did their best to help, though. The rooms are comfortable and nicely designed, and everyone was friendly and helpful. I also loved the self-serve drinks bar by the equestrian training ground, a lovely spot to spend an evening. Great value for a really nice stay.
