Stayokay Utrecht Centrum - Hostel

The staff were easy to talk to and very accommodating, and families with children are welcome. We visited Utrecht on a college educational trip and stayed here, which turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Rooms were cleaned every day. Towels and hairdryers cost extra, but the charges seemed reasonable. There’s a washing machine and dryer on site, and I’d say things are available if you ask. It’s well placed for walking to shops, cafes, and restaurants. The 5th next door does lovely hot chocolate, breakfast, and evening meals. I think they have a board game night on Thursdays, though I’m not sure if it happens every week. It could be a nice way for solo travelers to meet people.

We slept really well here, it was quiet at night. The rooms were clean, breakfast was delicious, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I stayed with my family, and we’ll definitely come back.

The main drawback was the shower setup. There’s little room to dry off comfortably before going back into the dorm, and hardly any space for your bathing things. The room with the washing machine lockers smelled really bad, too. Still, it was a nice place, with helpful, friendly staff, a comfortable bed, and clean sheets.

This was my first stay in a hostel and hotel blend that worked so smoothly. It had a relaxed bar where remote workers could hang out, alongside family space for people with kids. The attached cafe and restaurant was great for working remotely. Rooms were super clean, staff were nice, and there’s a luggage area for early arrivals or late departures. Fabulous stay in Utrecht.
