Best Western Hotell Hordaheimen

The location and breakfast were good, and the stay wasn’t bad overall, but I wouldn’t choose it again. Our room was mostly clean, though the window was very dirty and made the view of the interior court disappointing. Staff weren’t always present, and a short message told us to go somewhere else with questions. We could have used that information before arriving, since we couldn’t get into the hotel. We also couldn’t pay at check-in, which would have saved us waiting at checkout and then rushing to the bus station.

This is supposed to be a luxury hotel, but it felt like a budget place with cheap IKEA furniture. The room looked nothing like the booking picture, with a grim interior view of a wall. The person at reception wasn’t nice. They said they’d give me a nice room, then gave me their worst one. Horrible.

I was in a single room, which was small, but the price seemed fair for an expensive Norwegian city. Breakfast was good and the staff were friendly. Housekeeping was understaffed, so I had to wait to check in, but the front desk handled it very well. Maybe the new landlord who took over could give this humble place a bit more attention.

The breakfast was really good, with plenty of choices, and the staff were nice. The front desk had a Bergen map and pointed out some nearby attractions. It was an easy walk to the main shopping area with all the colorful stores everyone photographs. The room was nice too, though the shower was a little small. I could stick out my elbows and touch both sides.
