Thon Hotel Skagen

The staff were so welcoming and always smiling. My room didn't have a desk, but they offered me another room at no extra charge. The hotel is a little worn, though it didn't spoil the stay. Waffles are served in the early evening, followed later by an evening meal, both included. Breakfast was great, the best in Bodø for me, with eggs or omelettes made to order and delicious pressed coffee. Pros: great staff, excellent breakfast and extra evening food. Con: a bit worn.

I don't agree with people calling the rooms dated. Mine was clean, quiet, welcoming, and nice, with a comfy bed and enough space for me and my things. I left my bike outside all night with luggage attached and had no problems. The free afternoon waffles and breakfast were great, with cereal, chia pudding, smoothies, fruit, continental options, and cooked food. It cost quite a bit more than I usually pay, but the discount, single-room rate, and free food helped. I paid £70 for the night.

We've stayed here several times, and it's become our favorite hotel in Bodø. The value for money is spot on, and the atmosphere is friendly and nice. Their evening waffles are wonderful and included in the price. The service mindset is outstanding too.

I keep coming back because it's a wonderful hotel and a great base. The rooms are clean and well serviced, and the staff couldn't be more helpful. Thankfully, they all speak great English. The omelettes are so good the chefs could give masterclasses. It's a great breakfast before heading out into this charming, if cold, Norwegian town. I'll be back.
