Finsnes Gaard

The view and landscape are lovely, and the building is a nice house with small rooms. Our room had a little kitchenette, and the bed was a bit narrower than usual but still fine. It’s a smart hotel, so there’s no staff on site. You get a code on check-in day to enter the building and your room. The center is about a five-minute walk away, even though the hotel itself isn’t downtown.

It’s a peaceful spot by the water, and the staff were very helpful. If you ask nicely, they can arrange quite a lot. Just a little reminder for visitors from across the Atlantic: please respect the 🤫.

The room was warm, clean and comfortable, with restaurants and grocery stores close by. The only thing that would make it better is a smoother paved path to the four apartments.

We loved staying at Sea View House. The living area was spacious and comfortable, with views of the sea and some of the town, and there was parking right outside. The bedrooms are cozy, though really just for sleeping. The kitchen was extremely clean and stocked with plenty of dishes, cookware, a kettle, coffee maker, dish soap, paper towels and a dishwasher. Being able to use the washer and dryer in the main house was great, and laundry soap was provided too. There’s also a grocery store right beside the property, which made shopping easy. Check-in was simple, with a code emailed once the unit was ready. A couple of things could be improved: a shower soap or shampoo dispenser would help, since putting soap on the floor is awkward, and better bedroom shades or curtains would keep out more of the summer light. Otherwise, this is a very well-run property.
