There was coffee ready in the kitchen when we got up, and we were told we could help ourselves to most things in the pantry and fridge. The whole stay felt almost like living in a collective, and we had a wonderful time. The deluxe double room works great for couples. I’d strongly recommend this place to everyone.

Hospitality is what Gullbrakka and its owners are best known for. It’s a proper base camp, with a great bed, a fully equipped kitchen and even a sauna. There’s also loads of information about the activities and tours this hidden gem offers, plus a history hour.

The views from the shared living room are stunning, and there’s a well equipped kitchen to share with other outdoorsy people. Gulbrakka Basecamp has a magnificent location and feels like home almost straight away. It’s a fantastic place if you like the outdoors, good conversations, and that home away from home feeling.

There’s a small beach for anyone brave enough to swim in the fjord, and the location and atmosphere are both great. The host is very enthusiastic and full of information. The place also has a fascinating history.

We only got to stay one night, which was a shame. The house sits in a great spot right by the water, with a lovely view. The host offers activities like kayaking, and the staff are very friendly. It felt like home.
