Thanks to the driver who met me at the airport, I got some much-needed rest and even made it to breakfast. I’d arrived around 8 a.m. after an overnight flight from New York, exhausted, and only then realized check-in was much later, definitely not before noon. She explained the policy calmly and offered to keep my bags safe while I walked around. Since my schedule was tight, she also checked with reception to see if an earlier room might be possible. About half an hour later she returned with good news: they had a room ready and could check me in early. I’m really grateful. Her help made a huge difference, and I honestly don’t know what I’d have done otherwise. The staff were kind and helpful throughout, and the service was excellent. They also drove me back later at a very reasonable price. I had a great stay and definitely recommend the hotel for its caring staff and service.

Dinner was available until 9pm, which I really appreciated since I arrived in the evening, and there were good options to choose from. The place was super clean, the staff friendly, and breakfast had plenty of choice. They also offer an airport transfer for a small fee, and it’s a handy place to stay near the airport. It can get loud because sound carries easily here. Some travelers were really noisy at 1:30am!

The shuttle and breakfast were both very good, and the receptionist even picked me up from the airport at midnight. Breakfast is simple, which I liked. People seemed to respect the food instead of wasting it or pushing each other to grab things greedily. The staff share the work and keep everything in order, and the service was great. 🙏

Gardermoen is not somewhere I can trust after this experience. I made a booking mistake and noticed it just 10 minutes later, so I asked to cancel and make a new reservation for a different date. The hotel took 5 days to reply, then said cancellations weren’t allowed. I understand the booking was non-refundable, but I’d contacted them only a few minutes after making it and hadn’t changed any plans. I’ve spent hundreds of nights in hotels around the world and have rarely made this kind of mistake. On the rare occasions I have, hotels have never handled it this way. I don’t think this was good service, and in the end everyone loses.
