We were there for three nights, and breakfast was the highlight, one of the best we had in Norway. Finding the entrance after arriving from the metro with our luggage was tricky, perhaps because renovation was underway. The hallway carpets didn't look very clean, and the lobby felt rather basic.

After a 12-hour day of travelling, there was no hot water. The staff just shrugged and said there was nothing they could do. They didn't offer to move us, look into the problem, or provide compensation. We were left to deal with it ourselves. The staff were horrendous, and the whole experience was awful. The rooms also looked like they belonged in an 80s kids' cartoon, with completely wild colors. Quite possibly the worst hotel I've stayed at, in Norway or anywhere.

Renovation work caused a little noise in the morning, but it wasn't a big deal. Our room was comfortable and modern, and the breakfast was excellent quality, even if the selection wasn't huge. Absolutely fantastic hotel.

We had a very nice, quiet suite on the 3rd floor, and the ongoing renovation didn't make it noisy. At breakfast, the vegetarian options were cooked really well, so kudos to the chef. There weren't vegan or vegetarian sausages, but I don't expect that outside London. Daniel at reception couldn't do enough to help, and another young man from reception came outside to show me where the car park entrance was. Thon Vika Atrium has high standards, and I'll use Thons more in the future.

The receptionists were friendly, professional, and always ready to help, which was a real plus. The room was spacious, breakfast was great, and the price felt fair. The location was amazing too.
