Roros Hotell

We had a great time here with the kids. There are several pools and even an indoor lekeland, and the staff were amazing. A really good hotel in the beautiful town of Røros. Highly recommend it.

We came for New Year's and had a really nice stay. The rooms felt a little tight, but they were clean and comfortable. The pool and kiddies play area were fantastic. I'd recommend it for a winter trip.

The rooms could use an update, and there wasn't any air circulation, though the bed was comfortable. It's about a 10-minute walk to the town centre, even in a snowstorm. After walking the dogs through the snow, sitting by the fireplace was lovely. The hotel has plenty to do too, with a pool, pool table, shuffle board and play house. Breakfast was very nice, especially the lappe. There wasn't much choice for evening food, but my son's pizza was very good. Some staff in the lobby bar were unhelpful. When I asked if the reindeer sausage meal could come with chips instead of mash, I was told, “no, the kitchen staff won’t like that.” A couple of people stood out in a good way: the man clearing plates at breakfast, who was of Mediterranean / South American descent, was excellent, and the young man at reception gave great advice when we arrived at 1900 on 28/12. I'd recommend the hotel, but I hope management looks at the bar staff's attitude. Thank you 🙏

The hotel sits at the top of a slope, so keep the hill in mind if you're coming from the train station. We booked a suite on the lowest floor for a quiet long weekend away from work and worries. The bed is in a separate area from the living room, and the bathroom has both a tub and shower. Robes and slippers were ready for us. We could hear footsteps from the room above, so it isn't fully soundproof, but it was fine. The wine we'd ordered wasn't there when we arrived, though reception sorted it out quickly once we mentioned it. There are indoor and outdoor pools, a sauna and jacuzzis. The gym is by the pool entrance, with only a small selection of equipment. Breakfast had bread, hot dishes, fruit, yogurt and cereal, plus a cold food section. There wasn't a lot of variety, and the main serving area got crowded at busy times, though there were plenty of tables.
