Tananger Apartment Hotel

I stayed one night in June, 995nok for two people. The room was cozy, with a kettle and fridge, and the bed was big and comfortable, just right for firmness. The shower was big too. The welcome by phone and email was good. The reception isn't staffed 24/24, as the website, phone, email and a note at the hotel all explain, so check in and check out are automatic. In the shared area there are a baby foot table, two big screens, a comfy sofa and armchairs, plus a free coffee/chocolate machine. There's also a washing machine on the 6th floor for longer stays, since the hotel caters to both short and long visits. It's far from the city center, 30 minutes by bus n2, but close to the ferry, 30 minutes on foot or 4 by car. There aren't any shops around here. The only downside was the noisy forced ventilation, which ran high during the day and medium at night.

There was plenty of space, and it was nice and clean, though a bit clinical. The roof lamp looks too much like a bathroom light, and changing it would help. Remember to bring breakfast.

It's pretty grim, just a room at the edge of an industrial area. There's a long walk to a corner shop and no services around. It works for what it is, but feels like somewhere your company sends you, not a place you'd choose yourself.

It's a good hotel, but far from pretty much everything. The internet in the room was slow, sometimes painfully so. Shame, because otherwise it would have had much better reviews.
