Hummeren Hotel

The room I was given was unfortunately dusty and dirty. There was even a half-empty bottle left behind, and the bathroom wasn't clean either. The staff were proper, but breakfast and the restaurant were mediocre. The fish soup is worth recommending. The location itself is good.

After a long day of travel, I checked in just before midnight and found a clogged bathroom sink, hair and dirty linen on the bed, a bathroom bin full to the rim from the previous guests, brown stains beside the toilet, and dust and debris across the floor. I complained at reception and got moved. None of the keycards worked, so I went back for replacements, but those failed too. The receptionist let me into the room but didn't resolve the card issue, leaving me without a working keycard. The new room was livable, though still not as clean as I'd expect, and its window or door didn't work properly, so I couldn't get fresh air overnight. The hotel is extremely old and needs an upgrade. For that price, this was a disappointing room. I strongly regret booking and wouldn't recommend it.

The restaurant is very good. My room was okay, clean, and had a comfortable bed.

The veranda looks out over the water and is nicely sheltered from traffic, making this a great spot to meet friends. The food was good, and what they did have in stock tasted good too. Service was friendly, though it felt unpolished overall, and there's no table service outside. The menu didn't match what was actually available, leading to what felt like endless back-and-forth just to find out what was on offer. They should update it.
