Best Western Tingvold Park Hotel

The room was clean and roomy, and pets are welcome. The rate included a really good buffet dinner, and there’s free coffee available at the station around the clock.

The dinner buffet was the letdown during our two-week stay. A lot of it was barely seasoned, except for the chicken and one pasta dish, which were far too salty. The potatoes already seemed to have been sitting out for ages when the buffet opened, with a tough, leathery texture. Breakfast was fine, with fresh fruit, mostly fresh bread, eggs and bacon. My room was one of the larger ones and had a balcony. It was quite spacious, the bathroom was smaller but fine, and the bed was great, though very soft. The minibar was a big negative, more than €7 for a 0.33 l bottle of water. I’d still recommend the hotel, but they really need to pay more attention to the food. I can’t understand why so many guests were happy with it.

The private parking is right by the entrance, and the bed is huge and comfortable. Dinner at the evening buffet was good, with some food that tasted homemade. The downside is that it finishes too early, so arriving late means missing the good dinner. Still, it’s a good place to stop while crossing Norway.

The room looks nice, simple but comfortable, and it has a lovely balcony. Dinner’s served until 9 pm, and you can have Norwegian waffles with tea or coffee for free whenever you like. The minibar is really expensive, so bring your own things.
