Quality Hotel Prinsen

My son and I stayed one night while visiting town, and we both loved it. The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms clean, and the interior design brilliant. The location is great, and the front desk service was amazing. Probably the best place to stay in Trondheim.

I've stayed here and loved both the hotel and its staff. The rooms are modern, well equipped, and super clean, and breakfast is fab. The desk team and everyone else are a fine example of how to work in hospitality. It's easy to get around Trondheim from here, whether on foot or by public transport. I'd recommend the ATB app and a 24 hour ticket. I'm visiting again next week and will try to get some names so I can update this review. Can't recommend the place highly enough.

My flight was delayed, so I arrived quite late. The staff made me a nice sandwich and some juice so I wouldn't be hungry. The room was comfortable, the place was generally clean, and it was quiet.

The breakfast was very good, with lots to choose from: cereals, breads, meats, fruit, and eggs. You could have them hard-boiled or sunny side up with bacon, or ask the chef to make an omelette with ham and mushrooms. The staff were friendly and helpful, including when they booked us a large taxi to the airport. The hotel is well placed, just minutes from St Olaf Square, Sentum, and the Cathedral, with supermarkets and places to eat nearby. Rooms are an okay size, and the bathrooms are large. The beds were comfortable, but too soft for me. There are plenty of electrical points, though they're in odd places like the floorboards, and there's no safe in the room. It also needs more lighting, since it stays very dark even during the day. Some doors were hard to lock. One person in our group switched to a junior suite after finding their room door unlocked. We also heard street noise at night because the tram stop is right outside. The automatic shutters can make noise when they come on around 7 am. A good hotel in a great location, overall.
