We parked our camper van here for two days. The fjordside location was lovely, and it’s an easy walk to a grocery store and the cider route. Showers and electricity were free, and the bathrooms were clean, though dated. There’s a simple kitchen with extras like soap, sponges, towels, and a kettle. The laundry has a washing machine but no dryer. WiFi was very limited wherever we tried it. The water point was confusing, with no hose, and staff weren’t sure whether one was working.

We spent three nights at Ulvik Camping and loved the stunning view and kind, friendly staff. Our cabin was simple and clean, fine for sleeping and eating, though not very comfortable for spending time in. We were allowed to use the hotel’s nice living room and play area, which even had a pool table. Thanks for a pleasant stay.

We stayed four nights in a campsite cabin with the family. It’s a great base for exploring the region, and the staff were extremely friendly. But the cabin was very overpriced for what we got, cheaply furnished, and the bathroom facilities were outdated and dirty.

The campsite is in a great location, but it isn’t well maintained. The showers were especially bad and dirty. Of the two men’s showers, only one door closed, and it wouldn’t lock. I heard the women’s showers were no better, with dirty rooms and doors that wouldn’t shut at all. There was a chair to sit on, but it nearly broke when I tried it. Be prepared to use your own shower if you stay here. They’re charging top money for a second-rate site.

We were really happy with this campsite. The views are beautiful, and it’s a great base for trekking the Queen Sonja trek (Dronningstein) from Kinsarvik to Lofthus. The starting point is a 20-minute drive away, and the effort was well worth it. Our cabin was nice and clean, the toilets were clean, and the hot showers were good. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook.
