Halland Camping

This is a handy campsite for an overnight stop while travelling along the E6. There are tidy-looking, unusual cabins, grassy tent pitches, and plenty of places for RVs. Service is friendly, prices are affordable, and a tent spot with a car costs 320 NOK, showers included. The spacious service building was clean, with a large kitchen available to guests. From a tent, you can hear some E6 traffic, and the train tracks are close on the other side of the camp. There's also a new motorway being built farther away, which may bring daytime noise. Light sleepers should bring earplugs. It's a good option if you're in the area.

I strongly recommend this camping, even though it's quite expensive. We chose the basic cabin, which still had a proper kitchen. The living room was separate from the bedroom and had a sofa, two chairs, an electric kettle, and a classic Norwegian-style coffee machine. The cabins are nice and fully equipped. There's no heater in the bedroom, but the blankets were big, warm, and comfortable. I ended up too hot!

Of the cabins I've stayed in at three campsites in Norway, this was the best.

A good stop when driving to or from northern Norway, with very friendly staff. The cabins have been upgraded over the last few years, and range from fairly basic to more luxurious. Bathrooms are a little worn but clean, and a hot shower costs 10kr for 6 minutes. There's a small shop for basic supplies. The nearby E6 means there's always some traffic noise, though it didn't bother me. There are nearby walks, a minigolf track, a few animals for kids to cuddle, and a medium-sized playground. WiFi is free and has decent speed.
