Hotel Monalisa Chitwan

Team Sumedha had two wonderful nights here. The staff welcomed us warmly as soon as we arrived and were incredibly friendly, which made our time in Sauraha feel exceptional.

The F&B staff were attentive and friendly, and they helped me feel comfortable. I can’t say the same for reception or the senior management walking around. I wasn’t after special treatment, just basic courtesy, like a smile instead of a judging look. One person was on his phone with AirPods in while I was right there, and I couldn’t get his attention for ages. I was brought to Chitwan by a third party, so I didn’t know the hotel until I arrived. For a three star place, it was okay. The room was old but huge, especially the toilet, which felt a little scary for one person, haha. There’s hot water. There was no “do not disturb” sign, so if you don’t want staff coming in, you have to tell reception and trust they’ll respect it. It’s toward the far end of the tourist belt, around a 15-20 minute walk to the sunset spot.

The hospitality stood out most to me. The staff were genuinely kind and helpful, and made sure everything went smoothly. The hotel itself was clean, peaceful, and well maintained, with spacious, cozy rooms, comfortable beds, good air conditioning, and the basic amenities you’d expect. The restaurant served fresh, simple food, with both local and international choices. It felt like a home away from home. The location was handy for the main attractions, including the national park, while being tucked away enough to avoid the noise. A calm, clean, welcoming place to stay in Chitwan.

My family and I had a wonderful three days at Hotel Mona Lisa. It’s a very nice hotel.
