Balthali Heritage Inn

The old Nepali house is superbly maintained, and the food is both organic and authentic. I simply love this place and totally recommend it.

Bisnu, his staff, and the Inn quickly put me at ease when I arrived in beautiful but somewhat remote Balthali. I'm a slightly anxious traveler, and I'd felt a little out of my element at first. The Inn also gave us an incredible way to take in the area's immense beauty. There are several nearby hikes through small towns, nature, corn fields, and rice paddies. Bisnu owns and oversees several farm fields nearby and knows a lot about the local crops and plants. The variety growing there is mind-blowing, and he's also just a cool outdoorsman to sit and chat with. Dinner was one of the most unusual meals I've had. Bisnu showed us around one of his smaller fields by the Inn, picked several greens for us to taste, then had them cooked into an absolutely delicious meal. It doesn't get more farm to table than that. We really loved our stay and couldn't recommend it enough.

We spent evenings chatting around the bonfires, and the whole place had such an easy, relaxed feel. The food was organic and homegrown, and Bisnu was an amazing host. A really restful stay.
