Some things could be better: outside sounds carry into the room, the shared bathroom is small, and we had a few kitchen issues, including flies and sometimes not enough food. Toilet paper was also missing at times. The village neighbors could occasionally be noisy. Still, we had a beautiful large room with a nice little private bathroom, which felt luxurious in Nepal. The rural area was generally calm, the views over Bhaktapur and Kathmandu were unbelievable, especially at night, and it was very cool after dark. The rooftop was lovely too. Amanda was friendly and helpful, made us feel welcome, and provided extra blankets on a cold night. My friend and I really enjoyed making our first pasta dinner in months with the lovely girl who does the cooking. There was free WiFi, a restaurant and bar, free private parking, and a 24-hour front desk, shared lounge, and gift shop. Certain rooms look out over the mountains, river, or city, and each has a private bathroom with a bathtub. Bike and car rentals are available, and the area is popular for biking. Star View Guest House is in Bhaktapur, 11.3 km from Kathmandu, with Tribhuvan Airport 6.9 km away.

Starview guests get fresh air to breathe and, as the saying goes, the best time in the world. The accommodation is luxurious and the food delicious. Set in the heart of Changunarayan by Nepal's oldest temple, it's a great base for sightseeing, bird watching, and hikes.

A good place to stay in changunayaran. The view across Kathmandu valley is great, and the hotel is run by an open, friendly American lady who answers questions and does her best to make you comfortable.

Near Changu Narayan temple, this place is good value for the money. Dinner was a huge serving of Dal Bhat, and I had delicious banana pancakes in the morning.

A welcoming, very nice guest house with large rooms and all the facilities. I'd recommend it to anyone wanting a break from Kathmandu.
