The staff are helpful, and the place is recommended. There’s a Korean cafe downstairs, plus a separate restaurant, and a convenience store opposite. A travel agent for day trips is on the same premises, just outside the gate. The Wi-Fi failed sometimes. Hot showers are nice, though there’s less hot water when many guests are around. Large lockers under the beds are really handy. It’s a 10-minute walk from the main road, on a tourist shopping street that’s closed to cars for most of the day.

Right in the middle of Thamel, a very touristy part of Kathmandu packed with knockoff trekking gear and trinkets. As a backpacker, I had everything I needed here, especially proper hot showers and helpful staff. The bed I got was really stiff, which I liked, though you might not.

The dorm is great, too. Each bunk has two big lockable drawers underneath, which I’d never seen before, and they feel safe. The rooms are lovely, each with its own theme, and clean and hygienic, which matters a lot to me. They’re inexpensive as well. I love this hotel and feel completely safe staying here, especially since it fortunately had no structural damage from the earthquakes in Kathmandu. The staff are incredibly kind and helpful. I got teary when I left a year ago, so it was lovely to see they were still here and be welcomed back. There’s Wi-Fi, and a restaurant in the lobby serving Korean and English-style food, cappuccinos, espresso, and tea. The courtyard has flowers, rocks, and trees, and is a relaxing place to sit. The hotel is right in the middle of the tourist area, so it suits you if you like being in the heart of things. The t-shirt shop opposite sells amazingly embroidered shirts for very little. A bargain!

It’s a quiet, lovely place and good value, and I’d recommend it. The cafe downstairs is nice and has a relaxing area. I wish the bathroom door in the deluxe rooms weren’t transparent. I’ll go there again.
