Chhahari Lodge

For our family vacation, we recently stayed at chahari, a boutique lodge, and had an amazing experience from beginning to end. It’s close to kathmandu valley, with a beautiful city view and a peaceful atmosphere. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable, with balconies overlooking the city. Staff were friendly and helpful. One thing I especially liked was that outside guests aren’t allowed onto the property, only people with reservations. I highly recommend this resort for families or couples looking for a relaxing getaway, and I’d happily stay here again.

The gate was locked when we arrived without a reservation, so we thought the place was closed. After calling, we learned it only takes guests with advance bookings. We had to turn around and go somewhere else. That system felt inconvenient, especially when even stopping for tea or coffee seems to require a booking. The road up is steep and narrow, so drivers without much experience should keep that in mind. The view is genuinely beautiful, though.

The location was beautiful, and the food was delicious. Chhahari also shared lots of thoughtful, warm insights as we were getting to know Kathmandu. Our stay went beyond what we expected, and we’re very grateful. Highly recommend.

I loved the peaceful feel of Chhari and am already thinking about coming back. Yanji and her family made me feel so welcome, and the staff, especially Sabin, were attentive whenever I needed anything. It was a memorable stay from the start. The retreat sits among greenery just outside the city, so it feels calm while still being easy to reach. My bedroom was cozy, decorated in traditional Nepali style, and had a balcony with lovely views over Kathmandu town and the villages. The food was delicious, and they served generous portions. I found it a beautiful escape with kind, genuine hospitality.
