Hotel 11 Thamel

We didn’t feel welcome here, and the staff, especially at night, came across as somewhat rude and disengaged. They were doing their jobs, but the service felt poor for the price. We’ve stayed in cheaper places in Thamel and had a much better experience. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. The room had no tea or coffee setup, and the old-fashioned door lock needed a key. There’s no lift. Smoking isn’t allowed in the room or lobby, so you have to go outside each time. There’s also no taxi or airport transfer service. Breakfast is served from 7:00 AM to 9:30 AM, which wasn’t convenient on winter mornings in Thamel. It’s a very basic self-service spread: brown bread that you toast yourself, butter and jam, a banana, and one boiled egg. No scrambled eggs or omelets. Tea isn’t included either. A plain tea bag with hot water and sugar costs 10 NPR, and there isn’t even milk tea. We got one complimentary bottle of water on the first day. For the next night, they said we’d need to pay 30 NPR for another, even though the same bottle costs 20 NPR on the street nearby. Staff said they only provide one bottle even for a multi-night stay. That felt unreasonable and frankly ridiculous. We’ve never come across that policy before.

The rooms are pretty standard, but the staff are always lovely. They let us leave our bags both before check-in and after checkout. Definitely worth considering!

The room was tidy and well kept, with what I needed to relax. It seems like a good fit for a short trip or a longer stay, and I’d consider coming back. The place felt clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Thanks for the good luck gift 🙏🏻

Bhabana Bhujel called me, collected the payment, and sent my belongings safely, just as they were. We couldn’t get to the hotel to pay, so I’m really happy with how this was handled.
