We came back to Kathmandu after visiting Bandipur and went straight back to this hotel. We’d booked one night before that trip and liked it enough to return. The team was lovely, breakfast was great, and they let us leave our bags while we explored the mountains. The terrace was nice too. A relaxing place with a good feel and service.

The breakfast was decent, but that was the only good part for us. In the first room there was no WiFi, the sheets were stained, and we found bed bugs. The second room had three beds, stained sheets, and mould all over one wall. One of those beds had bed bugs too. It was so late that my daughter and I had to share a bed. They offered no discount. I don’t think the glowing reviews reflect the hotel at all. Only come here if you’re desperate.

The rooms were clean, cozy, comfortable, and quiet, and the hotel helped with my later travel arrangements too. But what meant most to me was how they looked after me when I got sick on my first day in Kathmandu. I was travelling alone, and Deepak in particular took wonderful care of me. He came with me to the hospital twice, sent free tea to my room, arranged all my meals as room service, and even called regularly to check I was okay. That made a huge difference while I was recovering. It felt like a home away from home. I’d happily recommend Hotel Dream City and hope to return soon. If I could give the service 10 stars, I would.
